History of B. I.G.

Our Support group was started in August of 1982 in Peoria, IL.  For many years we were known as the Heart of Illinois Head Injury Support Group, Inc.  Several years ago the Support Groups from the National level all the way down to the local Groups changed or added names to make people more aware of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).  At that time we added the name of Brain Injury Group, Inc., or B.I.G., Inc. 

In January 2006 the meetings were held at:

UAW  (United Auto Workers Local 974)

3025 Springfield Rd.  East Peoria, IL  

Heart of Ilinois Head Injury Support Group Conference May 02, 1992, 8:30am to 3:30pm at Saint Fransis Medical Center

B.I.G. has been having fund raiser to help send our local survivors to the Brain Injury Association of Illinois Camp Wilderness Endeavor since 2000.
